This session will give you a taste of what it’s like to throw pottery on the wheel to help you decide if you may enjoy an 8-week wheel throwing class where you really get to dive in. Speaking of tastings, this session we are mixing it up! We will start with a cider tasting of favorites by local Halycon Days owners for an extra fee of $25 (payable at the event). There are just 5 spots available on the wheel but you are welcome to bring a +1 to observe and participate in the tasting portion. But, you must register them so we know how many to expect.
After the full tasting, a glass of cider to enjoy after is also included in the fee and is open to all, 21 and older. A variety of ciders from the tasting will also be available to purchase.
Note: pieces will be fired after the fact and available at a later date.
Halcyon Days Cider Company is a peaceful cidery and labyrinth orchard in Natural Bridge, Virginia, open April through December, where handcrafted hard cider, historic charm, and meaningful moments come together.

To protect our kiln, clay must be from our shop. We have our own studio glazes for you to use. We do not allow any other glazes or underglazes on pots we are to fire for you. You are welcome to bring your own tools, but beginner tools will be provided.
