FLORALS, PHOTOS & FUN

a MOTHER’S DAY event

at The Workshop at Timber Ridge

Sunday, May 10th, 12-6PM

Give the gift of an experience this Mother’s Day. Treat a mom to a relaxed afternoon with us—choose a handmade Judd vase, fill it with fresh farm flowers, enjoy a portrait session, and unwind while taking in the view!

Bring your mother, grandmother, sister, niece, cousin or friend…just come and enjoy a different kind of Mother’s Day with us.

We have partnered with two local Moms and talented entrepreneurs to create a very special event for you. Amanda at Yonderyear Farm and Brinn of Tintype Truck. Two opportunities that are unique for this special day with special people: Come pick out a medium-sized ceramic vase made by Judd that is ready to be filled with a nice collection of farm fresh flowers that you can choose from. Need help making an arrangement? An experienced someone will be here to help you with that!

You may also come get your portrait made by local photographer, Brinn Willis, who has recently refurbished a food truck to be her mobile darkroom for her tintype or wet plate photography. This style of photography invented in 1851, was used during the 19th century and creates beautiful images on glass or metal. Sign up to get your photo taken in this unique style! Portrait sessions will only be available until 4PM while the UV light remains more stable.

Then enjoy time in the yard napping in a hammock, playing a game of croquet or cornhole, having a picnic in a quiet spot in the grass or shopping inside the barn and seeing a pottery demo.

You MUST sign up in advance for both opportunities so we can plan. Judd with his vases and the flowers and Brinn with her chemicals and plates. So, have a peek below at the options and plan accordingly.

If you are purchasing one or both of these experiences, we want to invite you to come and stay for any part of the afternoon to enjoy! In the event of rain, we will have to postpone the photography portion of this event. But the flowers and other part will go on regardless of weather!

Sign ups are below for each.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email us.

Come hang out & shop or relax even if you haven’t purchased something in advance...

The wet plate process is slow and deliberate and its unpredictability is perhaps its most charming aspect. Wet plate captures its subject with a kind of honesty and authenticity that has been all but eradicated from the images of today. It encourage the sort of 'come as you are' documentation this world needs to see more of, and the result is a long lasting soulful heirloom portrait on a piece of tin.

All sessions include the original tintype plate as well as a high resolution scan. Groups of 3 or less and children need to be over the age of 8 in order to sit still enough for the portrait.

Give this beautiful gift to yourself or someone else celebrating Mother’s Day. You will get to choose around 10-11 seasonal stems grown by Yonderyear, a local farm just 15 minutes away. Amanda and her family showcase lush, vibrant flowers during their peak bloom time, helping encourage consumers to place the highest value on flowers that are grown locally, seasonally and with sustainable farming methods.

Choose from a variety of medium-sized vases & fill it up with some fresh flowers to take home.. Once your flowers are exhausted, this gift will keep on giving..

Come anytime between 12PM and 5:30PM for pick up.
