with Stephen Palmer
Saturday, August 2nd, 10-4
$165

We will make use of underglazes, slip and a slip trailer to draw images on newsprint paper.

Price includes all supplies.
Note: pieces will be fired after the fact and available at a later date.
This class is limited to 10.
Stephen Palmer received his B.F.A. from Rhode Island College, and continued his study of sculpture in Italy at the Tuscan Renaissance Center. As a member of the South County Art Association in RI and now at City Clay, in Charlottesville, VA, Stephen continues to explore the many forms and functions of clay. Building A Creature Workshop
with Stephen Palmer
Sat. & Sun., September 26th & 27th, 10-4
$300
In this workshop the student will learn to make a creature using a hollow form technique. We will discuss size and proportion in the class to ensure that their pieces work as a whole unit. We will start on a small piece first to learn the process. In the afternoon of the first day, we will launch into creating our masterpieces. Day 2 is all about sculpting the form. We will discuss finishing techniques. At the end of the workshop, the student will have a finished piece and the skills and hopefully the inspiration to continue making more art.
This workshop is designed for anyone with a working knowledge of the basic techniques of creating a hand-built piece without step-by-step instructions.
BYOL (bring your own lunch). Drinks will be provided.
Price includes all supplies.
Note: pieces will be fired after the fact and available at a later date.
This class is limited to 10.
